Ethan is a music therapist, teacher, performer and recording artist based in Brooklyn, NY. After teaching music for 7 years he first learned about music therapy in 2018, and immediately saw an opportunity to deepen his ability to help others. He completed his Master’s Degree in Advanced Music Psychotherapy at New York University in 2021, and a level 1 certification at The Nordoff-Robbins Center For Music Therapy in 2022. Integrating elements of humanistic psychology and music-centered music therapy, Ethan is now excited to offer a range of services flexible to the needs of individual clients. He is also currently serving as an adjunct professor of music therapy at Montclair State University, as well as an internship supervisor at The Nordoff-Robbins Center for Music Therapy.

Born in Brooklyn and raised in Westchester, Ethan began performing in NYC as an actor before debuting original music as a drummer at age 14. His journey in Creative Arts Therapy began at 15 when he served as an assistant at Once Upon A River, a Martial Arts Therapy program run by Dr. Jonathan Slater. He studied music and psychology and earned his B.A. in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College, studying with Glenn Alexander and Matt Wilson.

While continuing to perform on drum set after college, Ethan followed a dedication to service work, training and working in early childhood education with a focus on special education. After working in a number of preschools including Special Sprouts, a Brooklyn-based special education program, Ethan transitioned into music education. He spent ten years developing a unique approach to private lessons and group work, emphasizing development of individual identity and practical skill building. He continues to specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, integrating his training as a music therapist.
